Ticket sales will commence at 11 AM (Eastern Time) on Monday, March 28, 2022.
The 50/50 draw will occur on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at approximately 2 PM at 30 Normandy Place, Suite 110, Oakville, ON L6K 3V2.
There will be one ticket drawn. The value of the prize will be 50% of the total 50/50 Raffle ticket sales.
Rules of Play
Tickets will be sold online using an electronic raffle system (ERS) approved by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and operated by charitable gaming supplier Rafflebox Technologies Inc.
The draw is conducted using an electronic raffle system (ERS) approved by the AGCO and provided by Rafflebox Technologies Inc. The winning ticket will be selected by a random number generator software integral to the ERS from all lottery numbers sold for the draw. A neutral third party (that is, a person who has not purchased a ticket) will initiate the draw sequence using the ERS dashboard.
After buying, patrons will be provided by the sellers with a receipt with their 50/50 registered numbers from a Random Selection System. No specific numbers can be given as numbers are generated randomly.
The amount of the 50/50 will be determined based on the number and value of tickets purchased. The winner receives 50% of the total dollars of 50/50 Raffle ticket sales.
Ticket purchasers must be in the Province of Ontario and at least 18 years of age at time of ticket purchase. Tickets cannot be purchased in the name of persons under 18 years of age.
Members of the Rotary Club of Oakville, and other persons or companies involved in the conduct and management of this raffle lottery are prohibited from purchasing a ticket. In the unlikely event that the draw is postponed due to technical difficulty, power interruption, emergency or other unforeseen event, the Rotary Club of Oakville will remedy the situation then conduct the draw and announce the winner at the earliest possible opportunity.
Distribution of Proceeds
Proceeds from the lottery will be distributed to the registered Canadian charities operating in Ontario shown below. The amount awarded to each charity will be determined by the Rotary Club of Oakville.
- Acclaim Health and Community Care Services (CRA charity registration # 119284602 RR 0001),
- Food For Life Canada Charitable Corporation (CRA charity registration # 890943772 RR 0001),
- Halton Learning Foundation (CRA charity registration # 889975223 RR 0001),
- Water First Education and Training Inc. (CRA charity registration # 838525269 RR 0001).
The draw must be held on the date(s), time(s) and location specified on the application for licence, as
submitted and approved by the Registrar, regardless of the outcome of the raffle ticket sales. Failure
to hold a draw as specified is a breach of the terms and conditions of this licence.
The AGCO has reviewed the online platform for this lottery event and it complies with the applicable
AGCO electronic raffles technical standards. Licensee is responsible for ensuring that all online sales
comply with the Terms and Conditions. Any proposed changes to the platform are subject to preapproval by the Registrar.
Any incidents, including those related to technical integrity of the gaming system, occurring before or during the electronic raffle event must be reported by the licensee to the Registrar within a specific timeframe. The Notification Matrix – Electronic Raffles (available at www.agco.ca) lists all the incident types that must be reported.
Licensees are responsible for compliance with the raffle license terms and conditions and any additional terms attached to the license and must include in rules of ticket a notice regarding odds of winning (if applicable). samples of print advertising and scripts for radio/tv are submitted to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario for review as part of the licensing process. the AGCO does not approve advertising. it remains the responsibility of the licensee to ensure that advertising content complies with the Terms and Conditions and any other requirements. the Registrar of Alcohol and Gaming has the right to require a licensee to remove or amend advertising at any time.
Licensee must indicate the detailed procedures to be followed for all draws and for all prizes to be awarded and any other procedures including those which a spectator may expect to see during the draw.
Licensee is required to maintain a proper audit trail in respect of the sale of tickets. a detailed submission of the sale of single and discounted tickets is required to be submitted with the lottery report and also listing names of winners and amounts won.
Any prizes which are not claimed must be secured or placed in safekeeping for a period of six (6) months from the date of the draw. if at the end of six (6) months the prize has still not been claimed, the prize or monies equivalent to the fair market value of the prize must be donated to a beneficiary approved by the licensing authority.
