Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin

Ninety percent of Canadians believe that there is a shortage of affordable housing in Canada.
Habitat Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin helps empower hardworking, lower-income families to build strength, stability, and independence by providing affordable housing, enabling financial equity and lasting change.

The benefits of a Habitat home reach far beyond the four walls these families help build. Every Habitat home built helps create $175,000 worth of benefits for the local community and helps reduce reliance on social housing, food banks, and contributes to better education, employment outcomes, and improved health.

For each Habitat homeowner, the impact is also generational. Habitat children have better educational outcomes and are more likely to pursue post-secondary education, providing them with a strong foundation for their futures.

Investing in Habitat for Humanity Halton-Mississauga-Dufferin empowers us to make a lasting impact for families in the local communities we serve. Along with the help of our dedicated volunteers and stakeholders, our organization provides a solid foundation for better, healthier lives for those in our community. Everyone deserves a home.

Food For Life

Food for Life Logo

Food for Life rescues and redistributes millions of pounds of GOOD surplus food, including fruits, vegetables, proteins, and dairy, each year from local farmers, wholesales, and grocery stores.

This GOOD food is then packed and shared with more than 3,000 individuals, families, and seniors who need barrier-free nutritious food across Halton. Not only does this nourish our community but it also helps our planet by reducing greenhouse emissions created when food is sent to landfills.
